This super full moon total lunar eclipse in Sagittarius will happen on May 26, 2021, @ 7:14 am EDT.

A full moon is when the Sun is exactly opposite and illuminates the total surface of the moon. As most of you know, the moon has no light of its own. It depends entirely upon the Sun for its illumination. Full moons are endings and completions. They represent the end of a cycle that could translate to a completed project, the ending of a relationship, losing a client or a job, or a change in your career. You might find that you have to relocate to another neighborhood, city, or country. It really depends on which area of your natal chart is activated by the eclipse. To determine how it will impact your life, see where 5 degrees of Sagittarius lands in your natal chart. Let’s break it down to fully understand all the implications of this eclipse period.

What are eclipses?

Eclipses are when a planet, in this case, the earth, obscures the light from another planet, (the Sun to the moon). There are two types of eclipses, a solar eclipse, and a lunar eclipse. We are talking about a lunar eclipse today where the Earth’s shadow blocks the light from the Sun to the moon as it travels between the two luminaries. In astrology, eclipses bring about sudden changes. Something unexpected may happen. Full moon Lunar eclipses symbolize the potential of the rapid removal of something, someone, or a change in circumstances. They provide an opportunity to reboot the area of your life that is activated in your natal chart. When this unexpected change occurs, it is important to let it go, push forward, and don’t look back.

What are supermoons?

Supermoons happen when the moon is at a point in its orbit where it is the closest to Earth. The moon is extremely magnetic and as it is so close to Earth, it can affect the tectonic plates. Also, that magnetism influences you on a personal level concerning your mood, emotions and reactions. After all, the moon represents; your emotions, your deepest desires, your maternal nurturing side, your instincts, and your home and comfort. Also, your vulnerability and how you express your feelings. So, keep in mind, the moon’s symbolism is amplified during a supermoon.

What else is happening during this lunar eclipse?

While a total lunar eclipse is rare, adding a supermoon into the equation is even rarer. This powerful massive full moon eclipse is happening at 5 degrees and 25 minutes of Sagittarius. Sagittarius exemplifies freedom, the truth, long-distance travel, the law, and belief systems. Now, the ruler of this eclipse is Jupiter which is in its traditional home of Pisces. Jupiter is very comfortable in Pisces. Not only that, but Jupiter is square to both the Sun and Moon. A square aspect causes tension and friction, it is not an easy aspect. That said, squares can be motivating. Through the difficulties, your drive to succeed will compel you to take action no matter what the deterrent. Interestingly, Jupiter suggests new beginnings. In addition, the full moon is right next to the south node, which confirms that the past must be relinquished to move forward in a new direction. Release the old paradigms and move on. Yet, there’s even more happening at this eclipse. Saturn has just gone retrograde in the sign of Aquarius and is square to its ruler, Uranus in Taurus.

What does all this mean to you?

Okay, stay with me because there’s a lot to unpack here. This full moon total lunar eclipse will shine a light on something you haven’t noticed before. You will most likely be forced to face the truth in some form. There can be no denial or looking away because situations, people, or authorities will force you to address whatever is up for you to change. Check your natal chart to see where 5 degrees of Sagittarius falls. Eclipses are extremely intense and fast-paced. Someone could offend you. Instead of reacting, consider taking a step back to ask yourself if there’s any truth in what they say. Resist the urge to dismiss what was said because of how it was delivered. The truth will come out, so why not look at it straight on and use the opportunity for self-awareness and personal growth. In the public arena, secrets are likely to surface.

The beautiful thing about this Eclipse is that it brings the motivation to make any change that is required. Although, it may be in the form of a difficult decision to let go of someone or something. Now, with six planets in mutable signs, you may find it tough to make a firm decision. Mutable signs are creative, adaptive, poetic, indecisive, and easily influenced. They also feel a bit unstable. Therein lies the challenge to be resolute in the action you need to take. Interestingly, you will have the chance to reboot or re-set the part of your life effected by this celestial event. That is if you can gather enough conviction to set yourself free. Keep your fears at bay to take full advantage and branch out to explore new horizons.

Jupiter is about expansion, bigger, better, and more. It is about belief, faith, spirituality, philosophy, and religion. With the intense tension caused by the square to the Sun and Moon, Jupiter may make whatever occurs bigger. You might have epiphanies, or an awakening, perhaps a strengthening of the belief and a faith in something bigger.

Between this lunar eclipse on May 26th, and the solar eclipse in Gemini on June 10th, (new beginnings) we’ll be swimming in a lake of mutable energy. Dive into the mystical lake and use this potent manifesting period for creating a visionary future. Mercury alongside Venus in Gemini square to Neptune in Pisces will nurture your mystic, spiritual, and visionary abilities. Trust that everything is happening for the best possible outcome. I’m sure you’ve heard that old cliché, ‘when one door closes another one opens,’ Well, sometimes you have to bash through the next door to break free! Remove the shackles that have bound you, and release the old to make room for the new.

On another note, Saturn in Aquarius went retrograde on the 23rd and is square to Uranus in Taurus. Saturn represents the government, your boss, the authorities, and is also known as the Lord of karma. Uranus, on the other hand, is the maverick, fast-thinking, lightening, futuristic, and does things his way even if it goes against authority. Uranus is in Taurus in conflict with Saturn in Aquarius. This could mean government shake-ups around the world with protests and social unrest. It can also indicate instability in the stock markets. We might witness a collapse of the old order. Whatever the case may be, we will have to wait and see how this plays out on the world stage.

Remember, there’s usually a period of chaos when a sudden change occurs. Be calm in the storm and don’t allow your mind to control a fear-based narrative. I suggest you do a media fast. You might consider signing up for a meditation class or quietly contemplate the next chapter of your life. Accept what has to change. Trust in the power of the universe and that everything will work out in the end. Seek to immerse yourself in the energy of love, gratitude, creativity, passion, peace, and joy as much as possible. Live in a higher vibration and channel your energy into creating or building something beautiful. Strive to focus on the possibilities for the future and not what is falling away or breaking down. Besides, you are the author of your story, so don’t be afraid to change the narrative. When we break free from the past, we can soar into the future.
