We are in eclipse season, which started with the new moon partial solar eclipse in Taurus on April 30, 2022. The culmination is the total lunar eclipse in Scorpio on May 15 or 16, 2022 depending on where you are in the world. There are a total of four eclipses in 2022. On October 25, we have a new moon partial solar eclipse in Scorpio. On November 7 or 8, there is a full moon total lunar eclipse in Taurus, so we have an ongoing theme between Taurus and Scorpio energies.

Most of you may know that full moons are about endings and letting go. The moon in Scorpio is next to the south node, and the south node represents the past. So this full moon total lunar eclipse is doubling down on releasing something from your past. This article will explore how to navigate through the turbulent emotions that may surface.

Let’s take a closer look at Scorpio.

Scorpio is a water sign, and water represents emotions, so intense emotions are likely to surface around the eclipses. You may feel super sensitive and easily slighted by a comment or look. It might feel like a roller coaster of raw emotions.

As the detective of the zodiac, Scorpio will investigate to expose the truth at all costs. They have no problem getting down and dirty. It could mean facing a truth you have been unwilling or unable to address. Something you have swept under the carpet.

A Scorpion sheds its skin and walks away, leaving what looks like a dead scorpion behind. It is at its most vulnerable for several days after while it waits for its exoskeleton to harden. Scorpio represents a transformation from death to rebirth. Something must die before it can be reborn.

Now, Scorpio rules over toxins and poisons. With that in mind, what is toxic or poisonous in your life? It could be a relationship, a job, a place, a belief, or perhaps a behavior. The thoughts and ideas that keep you locked in those scenarios are disempowering. It can be scary and painful to let go of toxic environments or relationships because of the uncertain outcome. But think of the phoenix rising from the ashes in all its magnificence and glory. Rebirth and empowerment can occur when you break free from whatever is holding you hostage.

The need to address the truth in some way is essential, so dive deep and be willing to meet aspects of yourself hidden in the shadows. Allow the waves of feelings to wash over you. Let reality empower you because there’s an opportunity for a new authentic path forward.

There are other forces at play.

The eclipse is influenced by Pluto, Saturn, Mars, and Neptune.

Saturn, the lord of karma, challenges this lunar eclipse with a T-square. It brings up responsibilities. Carefully consider the following questions:

  • For what or who are you responsible?
  • What have you been avoiding?
  • What needs to change?
  • What do you need to release?
  • Who has dimmed your light?
  • Are you preventing others from shining?
  • Can you let go of control?
  • What, where, or who is preventing you from being authentic?

The only domain over which you have control is you! You can change behaviors and reactions to people or situations. When YOU change, people and situatiuons around you change.

Supportive energies with a caveat.

Pluto, Mars, and Neptune support the moon in Scorpio with highly intuitive and visionary potential. It’s like a superpower allowing you to clearly see others’ intentions. It is one of the reasons why you need to peel away the layers, masks, and barriers of who you present to the world. Seek your truth but reflect on how Pluto has a penchant for obsession, so observe where you may exhibit obsessive thoughts or behaviors.

There is a profound unfolding of authenticity.

You may think that you’re “woke,” But inevitably, there’s another layer you’ve yet to discover. It can take a lifetime of self-discovery and awareness to uncover our soul’s potential. We are ever-changing and evolving. I, for one, am constantly learning new and sometimes painful truths buried deep within.

Miscommunication is likely

Mars is unhappy in Pisces because his power is weakened. He feels like he can’t move freely to get things done because he’s treading water. On the other hand, Venus, the archetype lover of Mars, is in Aries. Venus would much rather be in Pisces, where she is exalted, and Mars would prefer to be in his rulership of Aries. Because they are in opposite signs, misunderstandings are likely. And with Mercury retrograde in the mix, there’s a greater capacity for miscommunications. Make sure that emails and texts are sent to the correct person and go over content, spelling and grammar before sending.

Final thoughts

The eclipse will reveal what you need to face and work through individually and collectively. It’s about taking responsibility for ourselves, our actions, and our choices. Be willing to dive deep and meet aspects of yourself hidden in the shadows. Stress and anxiety are likely, so observe your feelings and allow emotions to wash over you. Resist the urge to use food, alcohol, shopping, gambling, or whatever you do to avoid feelings. Instead, navigate through the rough emotional wake and ride the waves of change. Find that power within to transform yourself and thus the collective. Above all, trust your intuition and do what gives you lasting pleasure.
